Welcome to JOURNAL CLUB! An initiative from Journal of Ecology, in which we present a discussion with one of our authors, allowing listeners to gain further insight into their article, and aiming to facilitate engagement between authors and readers. Listen to the podcast below, and then join the author online for a live Twitter discussion!
In our second Journal Club instalment, Senior Editor Jane Catford interviews Prof. David Tilman about his mini-review ‘Extinction, climate change and the ecology of Homo sapiens’. Dave talks us through his paper, and how he came to ask the big questions around the impacts of agriculture, fossil fuels, and the intersection of human health and the environment. Dave makes the argument that ecology needs to become a more mechanistic and predictive science, but how can we achieve that?
If you’d like to chat to Dave about his research, join us for a JOURNAL CLUB discussion, live on Twitter, and tag us in your questions and comments:
