In the aforementioned paper they presented a table breaking down how papers were distributed across different fields of ecology over the past 100 years (or the first 100 volumes of the Journal).
Here, we present a heatmap of the data. Colors range from light grey (zero percent of publications during those volumes/years) to black (larger percent of publications during those volumes/years). The heat map is sorted by descending mean number of publications over all volumes/years.
